ABOUT: STEVE PLACE

Steve was born and raised in Minnesota in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. After graduating from Henry Sibley High School in 1984 he attended college at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Steve spent his junior year studying literature at the University of Lancaster, Lancaster, England. In 1988 Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in English Literature.
After college, Steve lived and traveled in several western states including Colorado, Washington, California and Montana. He attended law school at the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana and graduated with honors in 1996. While in law school he was an editor of the Public Land and Resources Law Review.

Steve has practiced law in Bishop since 1996. He has a broad civil practice that includes family law, estate planning and probate/trust administration, and general civil litigation. He is currently President of the Inyo County Bar Association. Steve is licensed to practice in the States of California and Montana.

Steve enjoys participating in many of the outdoor activities available in the Owens Valley and Bishop area, including backcountry skiing, hiking, fishing and bicycling. He lives in Bishop with his wife and two daughters.
